Who We Are
Peter Mullens & Associates Pty Ltd
Peter Mullens and Associates Pty Ltd is owned by Peter Mullens. Peter is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He commenced in the industry in 1970 as an Insurance and Superannuation Consultant. He formed Peter Mullens and Associates Pty Ltd in 1977 as a boutique Insurance and Superannuation business providing advice to a wide range of clients.
In 1978 Peter broadened the business by providing investment advice. Over the years it developed into a full service financial planning practice with the objective of providing a range of wealth creation, wealth management and wealth protection services to its clients. While Peter deals with a broad range of clients at different stages in their life cycle he specialises in developing retirement strategies particularly through the effective use of Self Managed Super Funds for high net worth clients.
Ballantyne Financial Services
Ballantyne Financial Services is owned by John Francis. John is a qualified financial planner with over 10 years experience in the financial services industry. He is knowledgeable in all areas of financial planning, specializing in building wealth through tax-effective investing, superannuation and retirement planning and personal and corporate insurance.
The Halcyon team has continued to grow in recent years with Phil Clinton and Vivienne James having joined us.
Halcyon is a term that originates from the Greek Myth of Alcyone. It is often used to mean ‘golden’ or ‘marked by peace and prosperity’. Peter and John thought it was an appropriate name for the business, given our goal of providing our clients with financial plans that aim to ensure their prosperity into the future.

Halcyon Wealth Advisers Pty Ltd is a Corporate Authorised Representative of Madison Financial Group, which holds a Financial Services License. This authorises the Advisers / Authorised Representatives of our Practice to give advice. Madison was founded in 1983 by advisers with the aim of creating a community of professional advice businesses underpinned by entrepreneurial and innovative thinking. In April 2018, Madison was acquired by Sargon.
Our Practice has been built on a culture of quality technical and personal advice and client service. This is important to our clients and as a result our Practice has developed largely as a result of referrals from our clients and also from others in the industry who hold our advisers in high regard

The Financial Services Guide (FSG) is an important document that outlines the types of products and services the advisers of Halcyon Wealth Advisers Pty Ltd are authorised to provide under our licensee, Madison Financial Group (Australian Financial Services Licence No.246679).
The purpose of the FSG is to provide you with information, prior to a financial service being provided, about:
Who the adviser is providing the service;
What services the Adviser is authorised to provide under the Madison AFS licence;
Details of who the adviser acts for in providing the service;
How we and our associates are paid;
Any potential conflict of interest we may have; and
Our internal and external dispute resolution procedures and how you can assess them.
