A principal of the business, John and Peter formed Halcyon in 2007 with the amalgamation of their respective businesses.
John believes in building long-term relationships with his clients and understands the need to provide a value oriented, holistic financial planning service.
John works closely with his clients to prepare and implement comprehensive risk management, investment, retirement and estate planning strategies.
Malcolm Greentree CFP
Malcolm is a Certified Financial Planner ® with over 15 years experience providing quality advice to clients.
Malcolm began working in the financial services industry in 2001, gaining solid strategic, technical and product knowledge around various financial strategies for all stages of life. He works with clients in developing strategies that will improve their financial health by reducing financial uncertainty, not to sell them financial products.
Malcolm’s strongest skill is in translating complex advice strategies into tailored and easy to understand financial plans ensuring that financial advice remains accessible and achievable for everyone. In doing so Malcolm has built a solid reputation within the industry and has many long-term client relationships that span multiple generations within families and communities.

Sean is a Certified Financial Planner with 25 years in Financial Services including over 12 years working with clients to improve and achieve their financial Goals
Sean enjoys working with clients who realise that they need a financial partner – someone who can develop the right financial strategy, to improve and protect their financial future
Sean specialises in Investment, Superannuation and Retirement strategies, Full risk management advice, and the education of individuals who want to learn how they can reach their financial freedom.
Timothy Cummins CFP® B. Bus DFP
Timothy provides tailored, holistic and strategic solutions to reach his clients lifestyle and retirement goals. This is developed through building deep relationships and empowering clients to make superior wealth management decisions for enduring financial advantage.
As well as having over 7 years of experience within Financial Advice, Timothy is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), a SMSF Specialist Advisor® and holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Particular professional interests include the behavioural aspects of finance, investment portfolio construction and inter-generational wealth transfer. Outside of finance, Timothy has passions in both cricket and AFL.
Peter Mullens CFP
Senior Financial Adviser
Peter has spent his whole working life in the financial services industry commencing at MLC in 1965 straight from school. Peter subsequently moved to the advice side of the business in 1970 as an Insurance and Superannuation Consultant and then moving into broader financial advice from 1978.He formed Peter Mullens and Associates Pty Ltd in 1977 as a boutique Insurance and Superannuation business providing advice to a wide range of clients.
As well as over 40 years’ experience in the industry, Peter is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Whilst Peter understands the needs of a broad range of clients at different stages in their life cycle, he specialises in developing retirement strategies, particularly through the effective use of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds for high net worth clients. In recent times this service has become more focused on maintaining his long-term clients and selected client referrals, whilst he continues to provide investment and strategy expertise across the broader Halcyon business.
Phil Clinton CFP, BBus
Phil is an accountant by training with over 35 years of experience as a financial adviser and has seen the industry grow from giving simple investment advice to offering complex financial planning.
Phil is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a member of the Financial Planning Association. Phil is a member of the Madison Investment Committee.
Phil takes a “Three Generation Approach” to financial planning and works collaboratively with lawyers and accountants to achieve the best outcomes for clients. He assists clients with a wide range of investment related issues and often provides complex estate planning in conjunction with other professionals.
Phil sees the emergence of collaborative groups of accountants, family councillors, lawyers and financial planners all working for the wellbeing of the client, as the most logical way forward.
Phil deals mainly with high net worth individuals and family groups.
Vivienne James CFP, BA, FAICD
Vivienne has been in the financial services industry since graduating from university in 1980. Vivienne is a Certified Financial Planner, Vivienne is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, currently sitting on a not for profit Board.
Vivienne’s previous roles before joining the team at Halcyon included Director and Financial Planner at Investec Private Advisers Pty Ltd (2004 – 2008) and Head of Private Investment Division at BT, where she worked for 23 years in a number of senior roles.
Vivienne has a wealth of experience in investment management and superannuation and enjoys helping clients take control of their financial situation. Vivienne authored the bestselling book, The Woman’s Money Book” providing a practical approach to a range of financial decisions.
Vivienne is married with two adult sons.
Belinda has been a key member of the team for over 20 years. At a practice management level, she is responsible for the overall operation of our firm and day to day running of the Halcyon office.
She also works closely with the financial advisers, managing key client and stakeholder relationships and overseeing the more complex administration functions encountered within their portfolios.
Belinda holds a Diploma of Financial Services.
With over 20 years’ experience in financial services, Andrew has assisted in running investment portfolios and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, worked as a senior paraplanner and provided full client advice.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business, Advanced Diploma of Financial Services and is a member of the SMSF Association. In a Client Services role, he assists our team with technical and administrative support.
Andrew will be on extended leave between February and May 2020.
Client Services & Portfolio Administration
Kelly joined the team in early 2009. She is responsible for portfolio administration, client reporting and correspondence. As a key point of contact for all investment administration issues, Kelly liaises with fund managers, registries and product providers to maintain accurate records for our clients.
Kelly’s time in this central role has seen her develop ongoing client relationships and contribute greatly to Halcyon’s team culture.
Client Services & Portfolio Administration
Kseniya has a Bachelor Degree in Financial Planning and also holds a Diploma in Accounting. Kseniya offers a broad range of support to the advisers and their clients. She plays a key role in contributing to and enhancing the overall client experience.
Practice Support and Process Manager
Sandra is our Practice Support and Process Manager. Sandra has been in the Financial Services Industry for over 20 years and holds a Diploma of Financial Planning. She has held various positions during that time such as Superannuation Advisory Officer, Call Centre Manager and Compliance Analyst.
Sandra works closely with the advisers, managing clients, implementing processes and monitoring compliance obligations.
Leanne is our part-time Communications Manager. She has over 15 years’ experience in brand management and marketing and enjoys working with the team to create communications that enhance our client experience.
